Identity
Wouldn’t it be a tragedy to claim an identity yet have no reasons of your own for claiming it? Figure out what you believe and why. If you claim to be a Christian, figure out why.
In 1 Peter 3:15, Peter, one of Jesus’ apostles says, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” If you have surrendered your life to Christ and find your hope in Him, you have been brought near to God. If you haven’t yet…what’s holding you back from doing that? Before we try to make our actions line up with who we think we are, we must realize that the most important thing about us is what God thinks about us.
Read His word. You ARE His child.
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is,” 1 John 3:1-2.
When you see what that truth means for your life, then God will be able to show you what it means to live from your real identity.
